The Living Room

Before Photos ::

Not so sexy details :: Mirror in recessed nook of fireplace, giant flat screen t.v. bolted into masonry wall, do-it-yourself bookshelves and "downlighting", tired terra cotta tiles at foot of fireplace, and busted up crown moulding and baseboards.

Not seen in the photos but awaiting discovery :: Rotting hardwoods by the old radiator (that's actually in the garage), a hole in the floor for the absent radiator, donkey kong electrical outlets and cable lines, cracks in the plaster walls and ceilings, lots of spider webs in the fireplace, and original windows that close only with a little encouragement.

Demo Photos ::

We have the all clear...

Looking to the living room from the kitchen, you can kind of see that a wall has been removed, lighting is temporary, the walls and ceilings are patched and primed for painting.

Looking to the dining and kitchen from the living room, you can definitely tell a wall has been taken out.  The little knee wall is in for holding up the bar for my future patrons. The sink wall (on the right) has begun to be furred out, to account for a random pipe and because the exterior walls are 2 layers of brick, then concrete, and then paint. Makes it kind of hard for the electrician and plumber to do their thing. I've also always found it useful to have a lavatory standing in the middle of the dining room too.
