Special features :: The missing handrail - only a problem if you are concerned about falling into the basement. The previous homeowner put the handrail in the garage because he said it looked funny. They have a toddler and infant. How funny is it to watch little kids fall into the basement? The transom is missing its bottom framing, which is fairly interesting when considering the rain storms we get from the east sometimes. My only guess is that the rain water comes into the house because the transom exterior is screen, and the door jam is busted up with 1 in gaps.
I actually have fun plans for this area, so stay tuned for the after pictures. And, safety first, there will be a handrail.
