El Bano

Initially the bathroom was not in scope, but spend 30 seconds in there ladies, sitting on the toilet, and you'll find a lot of problems to look at. Hence the following.

Looks pretty on the surface, right?

And then the previous owners took down their shelf and exposed paint problems, panel problems, and hiding behind the mirror to the right, the original cut-out for the medicine cabinet. Someone got a little lazy and just put a mirror over it. Why bother properly finishing things off, right? Ugh. Blessing in disguise, the mirror will come out and a medicine cabinet will go in.

Handy tile work. Grout cracks? What to do? Apply caulk!

I did that! I demo'd the bathtub walls. There were 3 wall systems in here, one for each wall. A 2x4 fell out when I was demo'ing if that tells you anything.

Christian did this! It took about a day to jack hammer and remove 3 layers of flooring. (Remember, there's a pattern here...3 layers of everything for good measure.) We were without a toilet for 2 days and that makes things very hard when the company policy is to have a beer at the end of the day while cleaning up. So, check out the thrown. Christian built a temporary sill for the toilet, which has been raised over the last 80 years. It's kind of like using an RV toilet.
